2025 Fall Curvy Yoga 8 Week Series

8-Session Curvy Yoga Class Series

Series Includes:

8 - 60 minute in person Curvy Yoga Classes

Supportive community

In person at Yoga Central 411 N Woodlawn, Wichita Kansas

Class meets on Sundays at 1pm

Sept 7-14-21-28 Oct 5-12-19-26

Does your body look like the ‘yoga body’ portrayed in popular media? No? Me neither. Curvy Yoga meets us where we are today, in the body we have today. You’ll learn how to adapt poses to fit your body, instead of forcing your body into an uncomfortable position.

Yoga is more than the postures and poses, it’s tuning into your body and understanding what your body needs today. During the eight weeks, we will explore pranayama (breath awareness), meditation, as well as yoga asana (poses). Many different versions of the poses will be presented, allowing you to find what works best for you. Yoga props will be used to assist in finding your favorite version of a pose.

Who this class series for:

  • Anyone that has ever thought about trying yoga, then immediately thought "I can't do yoga, I'm too __________" fill-in the blank. Thoughts like I'm too tall, fat, short, long legged, short torso, etc. etc. Trust me, I've had the same thoughts.
  • Anyone that never, ever thought to step foot into a yoga studio. Same, when I decided to try yoga, going to a 'studio' was too intimidating. Even today, going to a new-to-me studio is a bit nerve racking since I don't look like a 'typical' yoga practioner,
  • You've heard that yoga is good for you, and never took any steps to give it a try. Or your friends have been telling you and telling you to try yoga,

This series is for everyone! Every body type, every age, every ability. Everyone is welcome. No prior yoga experience required, bring an open mind to discover the yoga you didn’t know you needed.

Who this class series is NOT for:

  • Anyone looking for a hot yoga class. You might sweat during class, it won't be from the room temperature.
  • Anyone looking for a fast moving flow (vinyasa style) class, We'll do some yoga flows, at our own pace.
  • Anyone looking for an exercise class.

How to get started:

  1. Register for this event using the register button below. Prefer to pay in person? Send me an email to register, at the first class, I'll collect payment (Cash, PayPal, Venmo, Card).
  2. During the registration process, you will be creating an account on this website.
  3. On the class days, arrive at Yoga Central, 411 N Woodlawn, 10-15 minutes before class. This allows time to setup your mat and props.
  4. What to bring to class: a yoga mat, any favorite yoga props, an open mind, and willingness to explore something new. Wear comfortable clothes that you can move in, avoid overly loose tops, as they can get in the way during practice.
  5. Be ready to have some FUN exploring what your body can do.
  6. Class size is limited. Registration closes the Friday before the first class.

You are registering for a total of eight classes, no refunds for classes not attended. In case of inclement weather that causes a class cancellation, a make-up class will be scheduled.
